Every Dog Matters Rescue Group opened their shelter in June 2019. They have rescued over 200 dogs since then. This is what the rescue has to say about this featured dog, Jamison:
“We received a call from the local Habitat for Humanity that they found a box of 6 puppies left outside their dock in the morning. We grabbed them and Jamison was one of those puppies originally named Rolo as they all had candy bar names.
We had so many applications on them and narrowed it down to 6 adopters, his family had 2 boys around 7yrs old and 9yrs old, two dogs and mom and dad. We thought everything was great until they called us in October and told us the 10mon old pup was going after their boys and guarding the mom. The boys admitted in front of the trainer that they hit and kicked Jamison!! So they returned him to us! We noticed that he would protect women from men and men made him nervous!
We then put him in a few 6wk training classes to try to get him to react better to all people and to learn to trust again!! About 6 months later a couple showed interest in him and eventually adopted him. She loved him so much and took him to 2 more 6wk training classes! We thought we finally found his forever home until about a year later we were crushed again!!
She and her boyfriend broke up, and her and Jamison had to move into an apartment! She only gave him just a few days to settle in before she called us! We tried to find a home or a foster home and couldn’t so 2wks later she drove him back to us and now he has been with us 2yrs with almost no interest!”

Jamison’s perfect home would be:
He would need to be the only dog
No kids
Calm home with few visitors
Someone willing to come meet him several times so he can learn to trust them!!
He is totally housetrained, crate trained but can be left out, knows all of his basic commands, walks well on leash and does not react to animals too crazy, easily distracted with a treat or command. Loves to snuggle or can self play, super chill and easy boy!!
